The Egyptian Theatre hosts film festivals, special movie screenings, and live entertainment events. This theatre is a 1929, fully restored Egyptian Art Deco movie palace and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
The architect, Elmer F. Behrns, designed nearly a dozen other art deco theatres across Northern Illinois, including the Arcada in Saint Charles. Behrns studied and loved Egyptology and put his knowledge to good use when designing The Egyptian Theatre. Behrns put together a cohesive design with Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great, as the central theme. The Egyptian hosts dozens of events each year and is available for rentals, tours, weddings, graduations, parties, and receptions.

Tours are available by appointment and can be scheduled for daytime, evenings, or weekends depending on availability. Tours last approximately one hour. The walking tour of the building includes historical information, architectural information, and discussion on the current theatre operations.
