Illinois America 250 : AU CENTRE DE NOTRE HISTOIRE NATIONALE

Le 4 juillet 2026 marque le 250e anniversaire de la signature de la Déclaration d'indépendance. Dans tout l'Illinois, les visiteurs peuvent explorer des moyens significatifs de se rapprocher de cet événement historique.

La commission Illinois America 250, en partenariat avec l'Office du tourisme de l'Illinois, développe un site national des sites historiques, musées et monuments qui reflètent la richesse et la diversité des façons dont les habitants de l'Illinois ont donné vie aux idéaux de la Déclaration d'indépendance.

Les contributions de l'Illinois à l'histoire américaine ont commencé bien avant 1776 et se poursuivront bien au-delà de cet anniversaire. Les sites sont organisés en quatre thèmes "Illinois America 250" :

Révolution américaine, Nous, le peuple, Le pouvoir du lieu, Faire l'histoire

Chacun des 102 comtés de l'Illinois recèle des histoires qui méritent d'être découvertes. Explorez les thèmes, visitez les sites historiques et consultez régulièrement les mises à jour et les événements.

RÉVOLUTION AMÉRICAINE

Bien que l'Illinois n'ait pas encore été un État lorsque la Déclaration d'indépendance a été signée, il abrite de nombreux sites historiques ayant un lien direct avec la guerre d'Indépendance et les années qui ont suivi. Certaines des batailles les plus occidentales de la Révolution ont eu lieu ici, notamment une victoire cruciale commémorée par le Kaskaskia Bell State Memorial, la "cloche de la liberté de l'Ouest" de l'Illinois.
