There is a shrimp cook-off with fresh Southern Illinois shrimp cooked more ways than you can imagine! Locally grown prawns will be available for purchase. Helicopter, & carriage rides, music & entertainment, beer & wine tent and lots more.
A “Shrimp Festival” may sound like a crazy celebration in a quaint river town in Southern Illinois but it is one you don't want to miss! No, you won’t find shrimp in the Ohio River, but what we do have are local and sustainably farmed shrimp (prawn) from Tanglefoot Ranch and lots of other festivities to enjoy. Come enjoy the streets lined with vendors serving a wide variety of shrimp dishes sure to satisfy every shrimp lover’s appetite. Plus, we have much more than just shrimp to eat. You can also find award-winning BBQ along with corndogs, funnel cakes, and much more.
