Rockford Public Library Main Branch

The 66,000-square-foot Main Library, which opened in spring 2024, serves as the Rockford Public Library’s main downtown location. The newly constructed facility features a first-floor Children’s Area with a dedicated computer lab, three program rooms, play structure with slide, and baby garden. Additional highlights include a Maker Lab with 3D printers and scanners, small board computers, a podcasting room, green screen video room, a spacious Young Adult Zone with gaming center, an adult computer lab, local history room, and multiple meeting and study rooms for groups of 2 to 8.

The library also offers a large interactive screen, underground parking, and convenient drive-thru book drop and holds pickup.

For special events, the third-floor event space includes access to one of two rooftop terraces available for rent. This unique setting is ideal for hosting meetings, receptions, and weddings in a modern, light-filled downtown venue.
