Located between Marion and Carbondale, this 18-hole, semi-private par 70 course features lush zoysia fairways and a practice area with target greens. Crab Orchard made Golf Digest's 2008/09 "Best Places to Play" list.
The par 70 golf course features Zoysia and Bermuda grass on the tees and fairways with Bent grass on the greens. COGC is built on the original Ferrell Farm and was opened in 1959. It is an enjoyable and fun place to play no matter your skill level or age. With our superb conditioning, excellent greens, and lush fairways….you will be treated to a golf course that you will enjoy playing. With a convenient location near IL Highway 13, just minutes from Interstate 57, Crab Orchard Golf Club is easily accessible for daily play, a weekend away from the city, or your next outing. Crab Orchard Golf Club is a great place to practice. Featuring a large Bermuda grass tee, there are plenty of hitting stations. Target greens offer opportunities to practice many varying yardages. A practice bunker complete with short game target flags allows you to sharpen up the sand game. The practice bunker also allows for fairway type bunker shots. The practice green which accommodates both chipping and putting is close enough to the range and the first tee to make your warm up an enjoyable experience.
